The view from Tour Montparnasse’s 210m high roof terrace showing the Eiffel Tower, Invalides and (if you look closely enough) Arc de Triomphe. I liked this picture so much I actually made it my desktop-background on the laptop – wow!
After the reconstruction of Montparnasse’s rooftop terrace it is completely walled in with glass. However they actually thought about photographers as well and included vision slits in the glass-wall. Even though the glass provides some sort of protection from the wind, cameras facing towards the views are completely exposed to the hefty winds blowing through the slits – strong tripod needed!
While the entire 360° view from the terrace is stunning, the view to the Eiffel Tower and Invalides is truly unique and fascinated me most. The night-shots were really amazing but in the end I decided for the daylight picture. I have also developed the picture in a black & white version as well and had a really hard time deciding which one to chose for the blog. Hence I don’t want to deny you the opportunity to chose for yourself.
As I was up there anyway of course I had to wait for the sun to go down and captured the same scenery at night.
